I just purchased a new Canon 400D (Rebel XTi). I used to own a 20D so this is very familiar to me. I love it. Here Ava watches her Blues Clues. I don't know what she would do if she couldn't watch Steve and Blue every day.

The kids got some rugged Fisher Price cameras for Christmas. Alex has been showing a lot of interest in using it. Out of curiosity I extracted some of the photos from his camera. For the most part the quality of the images looked like saucy flobs of steaming sinus clots but what do you expect from a fairly cheap toy camera, right? He did however manage to take a picture of Hailey that caught my eye. There was something about the composition that I liked. It was kind of noisy and the color was horrible but it had potential. So, I opened Gimp and messed around with the curves, contrast, and applied a photocopy effect. I'm actually quite pleased with the result.
